Cha For Tea, Inc. (“Cha For Tea,” “we,” or “us”) respects the privacy of people who apply to work with us. This policy explains what information we collect during hiring, how we use it, and how to contact us about it. It applies to applications submitted online, in person, or by other means for our California locations.

 

Information we collect

Depending on how far you progress in the hiring process, we may collect:-

 

• Contact and application details: Your name, address, email address, phone number, position and location preferences, available start date, desired hours, work availability, and how you heard about the opportunity.

• Qualifications and communications: Information you provide in a résumé, application, interview, or messages with us, such as work experience, education, references, and answers to hiring questions.

• Hiring assessments: Interview notes and evaluations made by the people involved in hiring.

• Information needed later in the process: If applicable, information for reference checks, lawful pre-employment screening, work authorization, or an accommodation request. We will request this information when needed rather than through the initial application form.

• Online information: When you use our website, technical information such as your device details and interactions with the application page may be collected as described in our website privacy policy.

 

Please do not include a Social Security number, financial account details, or medical information in your initial application unless we specifically request it through an appropriate process.

 

 

How we use applicant information

We use this information to receive and review applications; contact applicants; assess qualifications, availability, and fit for a role; arrange interviews; make hiring decisions; maintain required records; protect our systems; and comply with applicable law. If you are hired, relevant application information may become part of your employee record.

 

Where information comes from and who receives it

We generally receive information directly from you. We may also receive information from a person who referred you, a reference you provided, or a screening provider if a lawful screening process applies.

 

Access is limited to people involved in hiring or administering our systems who need the information for their work. We may provide information to service providers that help us host our website, manage applications, communicate with applicants, or conduct authorized screening. We may also disclose information when required by law or to protect our legal rights.

 

We do not use information submitted in a job application to market food or drinks to applicants. Website tracking practices, if any, should be described in the website privacy policy.

 

How long we keep it

We keep application and hiring records for at least four years as required under applicable California employment recordkeeping rules. We may keep a record longer when needed for an ongoing claim, legal hold, or another legal obligation. After the applicable period, we delete or securely dispose of it under our records practices. If you are hired, relevant information may be retained under our employee recordkeeping practices.

 

Your privacy choices

You may contact us to ask a question about your applicant information or to request that we correct an error. California residents may also have rights to know, access, correct, or delete personal information, and other rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act if that law applies to Cha For Tea. Some requests may be limited by legal recordkeeping requirements and other exceptions. We will not treat you unfairly for making a privacy request.
